Proud Sponsors of The Christie charity

Manchester Select Rugby League Community Club

About US

Our community club was founded in response to the devastating cancer diagnosis of Sarah, our co-founder Chris’s wife, and the desire of close friend, Nick, to make a meaningful impact.

The initiative began with a charity rugby league match in support of The Christie charity, raising funds for cancer treatment and research. What started as a single event quickly grew into a movement, uniting players, fans and supporters in a shared mission of solidarity, hope, and strength to fight cancer.”

Our Last Event

The first Manchester Select event took place in September 2024, with Nick and Chris assembling a team of old teammates to face the Great Britain Police in a charity rugby match.

The event also featured a women's fixture between GB Police Women's and Keighley Cougars.

Supported by sponsors like MCFC, Leeds Rhinos, and Tesco, the event raised an incredible £79,484, bringing together nearly 1000 fans for a memorable day supporting cancer research and treatment.
